Albert (A.T.) Kohout, M.B.A., is a Relationship Manager with Galecki Financial Management. His primary role at GFM is to work closely with new and existing clients, to explain our full range of services, and to review and manage client portfolios.
A.T. earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate and International Finance from Ball State University in December 1993. In 2000, A.T. completed his Master’s Degree in Finance from Butler University while working full time.
Upon graduating from Ball State, A.T. joined Edward Jones Investments, a full commission firm in Terre Haute, Indiana.
He worked there for a brief period until he opened his own office in the Indianapolis market. After a year and a half with Edward Jones, A.T. realized he would be better able to serve clients in an atmosphere that had no conflict of interest.
A.T. joined Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.’s National Service Center in 1995. He worked there for one year and was able to learn the intricacies of stock, option and bond trading as well as how the individual markets operate.
In 1996, A.T. was promoted to Schwab’s Indianapolis Branch. While there, A.T. focused on building relationships with clients as well as giving advice based on asset allocation models.
In 1998, A.T. was promoted to Branch Manager and Vice President of the new Toledo, Ohio office. A.T. worked there for almost three years and during that time received numerous regional awards and recognitions.
A.T. moved back to Indianapolis in 2001 and took on positions in the Retail Sales Strategy and Private Client divisions. His most recent experience in the Private Client division required that he work effectively with Schwab’s highest net worth clients. It was through his experience that A.T. started to realize how all encompassing true Financial Planning needs to be for high net worth clients who have complicated financial lives. Simple rules of thumb and lists of “best” mutual funds do not fulfill the needs of this sophisticated clientele. A.T. looked to join a team of specialists.
In April 2003, A.T. brought eight years of Charles Schwab training, skills and experience to Galecki Financial Management. A.T. also serves on the Investment Committee where his input is crucial to help adjust the investments for clients’ portfolios in order to meet their goals while minimizing risk.
A.T. became a shareholder of Galecki Financial Management in 2005. In late 2006, A.T. graduated from Kaplan University, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, with the Financial Planning Certificate. A.T. passed the national board in March of 2007, and officially became a Certified Financial Planner® in May of 2007.
